Clear stuck stock with a clearance rule
When stock stops selling, you can put it on a separate rule with its own settings to help move it. Here's how to build one without changing your normal rule.
Find the stock to clear
Start with aged inventory. It shows you what has been sitting the longest. Then decide how far you're willing to go on each line.
Build the rule
- Copy your normal rule. On the Rules page, click Copy on the rule card, and give the new rule a name you'll recognise, such as “FBA clearance”.
- Set the minimum. Use the Minimums tab.
- Set the matching. Use the Match Offer tab.
- Save, then move your SKUs across. See below.
The app explains each setting.
Move SKUs onto the rule
- By hand: use Bulk Changes or a file upload to move a list of SKUs.
- Automatically: add an automation to your normal rule.
Bring SKUs back afterwards
If you restock a line, you'll probably want it back on your normal rule. Automations can do this for you. See automation walk-back.
Keep an eye on your profit
Your minimum still applies, so a rule can only clear stock as far as your minimum allows. See unprofitable products to check what clearance is costing you.
