Set a minimum ROI, margin or profit
Your minimum is the floor for a rule. The Repricer won't price below it, whatever the competition does. This page helps you pick a sensible figure and set a different one for a single SKU.
Set a minimum on a rule
- Open the rule and go to the Minimums tab.
- Switch on Min. Profit, Min. RoI % or Min. Margin %, and enter your figure. A margin must be below 100%.
- If you switch on more than one, choose which price wins: the lowest of them gives you more room to compete, and the highest gives you more protection.
- Update the rule.
All of these depend on your costs, so make sure your cost of goods are in first.
How to choose a figure
- Check your averages. On your main dashboard, set the period to Life Time, or to the last 1 to 3 months for a shorter view. Note your average ROI and margin. See profit, ROI and margin if you need a refresher.
- Choose your figure. Start with a figure you're comfortable selling at.
- Review your orders. Look for sales below that level, which that minimum would have lost. Adjust from there.
This is a personal choice. Some sellers go lower, and some use 0% (break-even) to get out of a line that's falling fast.
Will a low minimum drop my prices?
No. A minimum is a limit, not a target. Set it too high and your price sticks at the floor, and you stop competing.
If you use Hunt & Hold, choose your minimum with care.
Wait for the price to recover, or sell lower?
- Wait: a higher minimum holds out for a better price. The risk is that the market keeps falling and your cash stays tied up in stock.
- Sell lower: a lower minimum lets stock clear, so you can put the money into something better.
Neither is always right. For a line that needs to clear, see clear stuck stock.
Set a different minimum on one SKU
- Open All Markets for the SKU. It's on the product's Link Menu.
- Click the row for that marketplace. The Minimum Override and Maximum Override boxes appear below it.
- Choose Minimum Price, Profit, RoI or Margin, and enter your figure.
- Click Save.
An override applies to that SKU on that marketplace, in place of the rule's minimum. The SKU needs a rule and its Repricing switch on, or STK won't save it. To find SKUs with an override, use the Has Min/Max Override filter on Repricer Filters.
