Find aged inventory
Use the Ageing filters on the Inventory page to see which FBA stock has been at Amazon longest, so you can act early. Old stock ties up your money, and Amazon charges more to store it as it gets older.
See your stock by age
- Open Inventory. Go to the page's filters.
- Open Ageing. You'll see the age bands, each with its own count.
- Pick a band. Start with the oldest and work down. The list changes to show only the products in that band.
- Sort the list. Choose Profit Low to High, for example, to see which older products earn you least.
The age bands
Each band counts how many days stock has been at Amazon:
- 0-30, 31-60 and 61-90: newer stock.
- 91-180: worth keeping an eye on, especially if sales are slow.
- 181-270 and 271-365: older stock to review.
- 365+: your oldest stock, and the first place to look.
Ageing covers FBA stock only. Stock you hold and ship yourself has no age band.
What to do with old stock
- Check how fast it sells. Old stock with a healthy sell-through rate may clear by itself. Low sell-through on old stock is your warning sign.
- Lower the price. If you use the Repricer, see how to clear stuck stock.
- Bundle it. A bundle can move stock that isn't selling alone.
- Remove it. If it won't sell at a price that works for you, compare the cost of keeping it with the cost of taking it out of Amazon.
