Update your cost of goods
If a cost in STK is wrong or out of date, you can change it at any time. This page is about costs that are already in STK. If you're entering them for the first time, start with add your cost of goods.
Before you change a cost
Changing a cost changes the past as well. Every order already using that cost is updated, so the profit on those orders can go up or down, and a profit can become a loss. If that's not what you want, don't change the entry.
A product can have more than one row on Cost of Goods, for example one for each shipment. Make sure you change the right one.
Change one or two products
- Open Cost of Goods. Search for the product. All shows every entry.
- Click Edit Costs. It's on the row's Link Menu.
- Change the figures. You can change the Unit, Delivery and Prep costs and the Currency. FBM products also show their shipping cost for each marketplace.
- Click Save.
If you're VAT-registered, each cost has an Inc VAT and an Exc VAT box. Fill in only one of them.
Change many products
- Request the sheet. On the Reports page, choose Cost of Goods V4 Detailed - Full List. It has every cost line, so it's the one to use for existing costs.
- Change only what you need. Leave the headers, the layout and the UNIQUE_NUMBER column exactly as they are.
- Upload it. Open Cost of Goods and choose Upload CoG.
The other sheets won't do here. The Aggregate sheets list only items that still need a cost, and the Update List has only costs not set yet, plus new shipments. Always download a fresh sheet rather than reusing an old one, because the layout can change.
If your upload is rejected, see the checks in add your cost of goods.
When your costs go up for new stock
You don't need to change your old entries. When a new shipment arrives, check its cost on Replen Check instead. See check for missing cost of goods.
