Set up two-step sign-in
Two-step sign-in means you need your password and a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. The code keeps changing, so someone who learns your password still can't get into your account without your phone.
Every login has its own. The account holder and each team member set up their own phone, so nobody shares a phone or a code.
Set it up
- Install an authenticator app on your phone.
- Sign in to STK. You'll be asked to set up two-step sign-in. You can also start at any time from Settings, in Sign-in Security, with Set it up now.
- Scan the QR code. In your authenticator app, tap + and scan. If you can't scan it, add an account by hand and type the key shown under the code.
- Type the 6-digit code. STK appears in your app as SellerToolKit followed by your email address.
- Save your 10 recovery codes. Copy or download them and keep them somewhere safe, away from your phone. You won't see them again.
Signing in on your phone?
Choose Set up on this phone, then tap Add to this phone. If nothing opens, use Copy key and paste the key into your authenticator app.
iPhone with no authenticator app?
Point the Camera at the QR code and add the code to the iPhone's Passwords app. Your 6-digit code then appears there, under SellerToolKit.
Can I do it later?
For a while, yes. Choose Remind me later for up to 14 days from the first time you're asked, or 3 days if you're a team member. The sign-in page and Sign-in Security both show your exact date. After that date, you need to set it up before you can sign in.
Skip the code on your own browser
Before you type your code, tick Don't ask for a code on this browser for 30 days. Only do this on your own computer or phone. You can see these browsers in Sign-in Security under Remembered browsers, and click Forget on any of them.
Move to a new phone
- Open Sign-in Security. Go to the Set up a new phone section.
- Enter a current code or a recovery code. Then click Set up a new phone.
- Scan the QR code with your new phone. Type the code it shows, then save your new recovery codes.
Your current phone keeps working until the new one is set up. After that, your old recovery codes stop working and remembered browsers ask for a code again.
If you lose your phone
- You have recovery codes: sign in, choose Use a recovery code instead and enter one. Each code works once. Then set up your new phone as above.
- You have no recovery codes left: sign in, choose I've lost my phone and follow the steps on the sign-in page, or email support@sellertoolkit.co.uk.
Got a reset email you didn't ask for? Open the link, choose Cancel, then change your password with Forgot Password? on the sign-in page.
If your code isn't accepted
- Enter the code showing right now. A new one appears every 30 seconds, and each one only works once.
- Check your phone's date and time are set automatically. A clock that's slightly out can make every code look wrong.
- If you have more than one SellerToolKit entry, check you're using the one for the right email address.
Running low on recovery codes? Enter your current code in Sign-in Security and click Make new recovery codes. This replaces all your old ones.
