Change your theme and chart colours

You can change how STK looks in a couple of clicks. Choose a ready-made light or dark theme, pick the colours for your charts, or build your own of either.

Everything here happens in the Theme Picker. Open it with the palette icon at the top of STK. It has four tabs: Themes, Charts, Custom Theme and Custom Chart.

Change your theme

Open the Themes tab and click any theme. It applies straight away, and there's no Apply button. The window stays open while you click through a few and compare them.

What is an Edge theme?

Many themes come in two versions, such as Midnight and Midnight Edge. In the base version, the card header matches the card. In the Edge version, the header has its own shade, so it stands out more. Pick whichever you prefer.

Change your chart colours

Open the Charts tab and click a palette. It applies to your charts at once. Theme Matched palettes are designed to go with a main theme.

Create your own theme

  1. Open the Custom Theme tab.
  2. Choose a Base Theme. This gives you a starting point.
  3. Adjust the colours. There are six: Background, Card Header, Card Content, Sidebar, Text and Accent. The preview shows how they look together.
  4. Enter a name and click Save. Your theme appears at the top of the Themes tab.

Create your own chart colours

  1. Open the Custom Chart tab.
  2. Choose a Base Preset.
  3. Adjust the 7 colours. Colour 1 is used for charts with one series, colours 1 and 2 for charts with two, and all 7 for charts with many.
  4. Enter a name and click Save. Your palette appears at the top of the Charts tab.

Delete a custom theme

In the Themes or Charts tab, hover over your custom card and click the delete icon. You can also select it in the dropdown on the Custom Theme or Custom Chart tab and delete it there. STK asks you to confirm. If you delete the theme you're using, STK switches back to its default theme.

Using more than one device

The theme you pick is saved on each device, so your laptop and your phone can look different. Picking a theme doesn't change anyone else's screen. Custom themes you create are saved to your account, so they appear in the Theme Picker wherever you sign in.
